Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Steamboat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reece Perry! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid leg kick lands there for Perry.
Perry finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Perry scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Perry has closed the distance and engaged Steamboat in a clinch.
Steamboat is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Perry is keeping busy. Perry lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Steamboat is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Perry pulls him back up using the underhooks. Perry holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Perry tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Perry gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Tyson Steamboat has been cut. Perry misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Steamboat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Perry jumps into guard, dragging Steamboat to the mat.
Perry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Steamboat is looking to stand up but Perry won't let him. Perry keeping full guard, as Steamboat tries to pass. Steamboat is working hard here to advance position. Steamboat trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. Steamboat preventing the sweep. Steamboat drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steamboat jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Perry moves out of range of the body kick from Steamboat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry fails in his attempt to clinch. Steamboat tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Perry swings for the body but Steamboat moves out of range.
Reece Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steamboat chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Perry can pounce on him.
Perry stuffs the takedown. Perry avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steamboat is breathing heavily. Steamboat with a lazy takedown attempt and Perry decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steamboat's guard. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Steamboat is pushing Perry's head away, looking to escape. Perry manages to hold on to the position though. Perry working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steamboat escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Perry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Steamboat keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully.

Perry has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Perry with good strikes from the mount here! Perry wants to finish this one by submission but Steamboat is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Perry. Steamboat is wriggling around trying to escape.
Perry is landing with some decent strikes but Steamboat is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Steamboat wants to pass the guard but Perry is defending well. Steamboat prevents Perry from improving his position. Steamboat trying to mount his opponent but Perry defends it. Perry kicks Steamboat off and gets back to his feet. Perry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Steamboat sees it coming and avoids it easily. Steamboat shoots in but no luck this time. Steamboat didn't expect that. Steamboat has his foot on Perry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Perry works his way back into a safe position though. Perry looking to pass the guard. Steamboat tries to land a sweep but no joy. Steamboat keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully. Steamboat bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perry's guard. Steamboat pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Steamboat has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyson Steamboat showed his dominance in that final round. Well Perry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
