Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ebbe Emmanuel Ibssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Dejesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ibssen comes to the ring accompanied by DJ Encore - I see right through you. Douglas Dejesus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ebbe Emmanuel Ibssen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Douglas Dejesus! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dejesus fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice takedown defense from Ibssen. No joy for Dejesus on that attempt. Dejesus shoots in and drives through. Ibssen sprawls well. Ebbe Emmanuel Ibssen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglas Dejesus. Dejesus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ibssen throws a series of punches but Dejesus avoids them all with ease. Douglas Dejesus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ibssen thows a body shot but no joy. Dejesus clinches up against the ropes. Ibssen is trying to force a seperation but Dejesus has the dominant position. Dejesus is trying to pull guard but Ibssen turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch. Ibssen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ibssen is trying to push Dejesus away but Dejesus has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Dejesus tries to pull guard but Ibssen won't allow it.
Ibssen breaks the clinch.
Dejesus needs to keep his hands up - Ibssen had a free shot at his head there. Dejesus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ibssen's waist but Ibssen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dejesus off to one side. Dejesus avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Dejesus shoots in for a takedown but Ibssen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Dejesus gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Ibssen to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dejesus shoots in for a takedown but Ibssen shows good takedown defense. Ibssen misses with a series of wild punches.
Dejesus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ibssen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dejesus somewhat. Dejesus throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dejesus tries a head kick but it misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ibssen misses with a few strikes there.
Nice takedown defense from Ibssen. No joy for Dejesus on that attempt. Dejesus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ibssen circles away. The crowd cheers as Ibssen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dejesus doesn't seem phased though. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ibssen. Ibssen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dejesus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ibssen is looking to improve his position but Dejesus isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ibssen is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Dejesus jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ibssen manages to avoid the submission attempt. Dejesus tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. This has been an exciting period of action! Ibssen is trying to get back to half guard. Dejesus working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ibssen wants to get back to his feet but Dejesus drags him back down. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dejesus has hold of Ibssen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ibssen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Dejesus cranks the arm and Ibssen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ibssen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Douglas Dejesus! An out of breath Douglas Dejesus thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
