Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cigano Mejias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Pablo Green! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Green tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mejias was well out of range. Poor timing from Green. A solid body kick from Green. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Green - that will leave a mark!
Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Green looks to score with a jab to the body but Mejias is just out of range. Green pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Green fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mejias checks it well. Green lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Green scores with a punch to the head.
It looks like Cigano Mejias has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Green throws a nice looking combination but Mejias bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Green gets off balance looking for a body kick and Mejias counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Green! Green tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mejias swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Green is now in Mejias's guard. A big mistake from Mejias there, giving up the dominant position! Green tries to stand but Mejias is controlling from the bottom. Mejias is looking for a triangle but Green pushes his legs off easily.
Green postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Green throws a big right hand that misses. Mejias is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Green loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mejias is looking for a triangle but Green pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green sitting in guard, not really doing much. Mejias working for a triangle but Green defends it easily.
Mejias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Green gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mejias is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Green is aware though and is defending well. Mejias will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Green landing with the ground and pound. Mejias looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Green wanted to stand there but Mejias had control of the position. Mejias looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Green wants to stand but Mejias is controlling his posture from full guard. Mejias working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Green doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Green manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mejias keeping moving, preventing Green from controlling successfully. Mejias working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Green has passed into half guard!
Green is taking a breather. Mejias says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mejias looking for submissions off his back. Green controlling the action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Green tries to stand and escape but Mejias is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Pablo Green dominated that round. The cut man is working on Cigano Mejias's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Green thumps Mejias with a low kick. Green drops Mejias with a beautiful combination! Mejias stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Green is looking for the KO!
Mejias is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Green plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Mejias to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Mejias just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Juan Pablo Green! Our winner, Juan Pablo Green, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
