The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams stuffs the takedown attempt from Genesis. Genesis gets slowly back to his feet.
Genesis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Genesis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Adams is fending him off so far but Genesis persists. Nope, Adams circles away and we're back to standing.

Genesis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Adams sprawls well. Adams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Genesis gets slowly back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Genesis closes the distance and clinches up with Adams, looking for a takedown. Genesis pushes Adams against the cage but Adams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Adams slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Adams leaves Genesis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Genesis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Adams dives on top into guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Adams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Genesis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adams has managed to get both his arms back between Genesis's legs - danger averted.
Genesis has his foot on Adams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Adams works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Genesis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Adams.
Adams slaps away a takedown attempt from Genesis, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Genesis looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Genesis get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Genesis stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Adams runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
