Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hammonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammonds has chosen Bad Meets Evil - Fast Lane ft. Eminem, Royce Da 5'9 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Hammonds, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva clinches.
Hammonds wants a takedown but no success here.
Silva tries to pull guard but Hammonds forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hammonds creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hammonds leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hammonds throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Silva escapes and throws Hammonds's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Hammonds seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hammonds's guard.
Silva stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Hammonds sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Silva counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hammonds displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.

Hammonds closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Hammonds pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hammonds's waist but Hammonds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hammonds closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hammonds has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hammonds throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hammonds off to one side.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wanderlei Silva.
Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
