Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Javier Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Jones! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively. Jones clinches up against the cage. Cruz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jones tries for a takedown but Cruz manages to get underhooks.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jones lands a hook that snaps the head of Cruz backwards. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Cruz lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Cruz stuffs the takedown. Cruz tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jones dodges the punch combination from Cruz.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cruz after a bit of a struggle. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cruz stuffs a takedown. Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cruz to the ground. Cruz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cruz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cruz scores with a one two! Jones had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruz swivels and escapes. Jones takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Jones on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment. Cruz tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage. Cruz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cruz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Cruz. Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cruz's efforts to push away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A frustrated look appears on Cruz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cruz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cruz was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. A left and a right from Cruz both land. Nice combination. Jones rushes Cruz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Javier Cruz showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cruz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Javier Cruz wins by unanimous decision! In his post fight interview, Javier Cruz started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
