Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Melartin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melartin has chosen Pennywise- Homesick as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 32 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Rafael Melartin! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Melartin. Beautiful body shot. Thomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Melartin is fending him off so far but Thomas persists. Nope, Melartin circles away and we're back to standing. Melartin lands a jab. Melartin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Thomas dives in and grabs Melartin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Melartin pushes down on Thomas's head and hops out. Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Melartin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thomas looks to land a right hand but Melartin moved out of range. Melartin misses with a double jab.
Thomas throws a shot from downtown. Melartin moves away and avoids it. Melartin tries to bum rush Thomas with a series of wild strikes but Thomas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Thomas fails in his attempt to clinch. A shot to the liver by Melartin. Beautiful body shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Melartin. Thomas does a little dance to reset his feet. Melartin scores with a jab. Thomas lands with a nice combination. Melartin backs away looking to recover. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thomas has his takedown stuffed and Melartin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Thomas tries for a takedown but Melartin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas shoots in but no luck this time. Thomas takes a shot right to the bread basket. Melartin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Thomas moves into the clinch successfully.
Thomas has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Melartin after a bit of a struggle. Melartin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Thomas has him pressed against the cage. Melartin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Melartin misses with a body shot.
Thomas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Melartin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Melartin just misses with a punch to the body.
Thomas moves out of range as Melartin strikes. Thomas throws a right and a left that Melartin avoids nicely. Thomas looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas misses with a jab to the body
and Melartin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Melartin scores with a hook to the body. Thomas takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melartin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Thomas darts in trying to clinch and Melartin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Thomas is rocked! Melartin is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Thomas had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Melartin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Thomas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thomas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Oh Thomas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Melartin throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Melartin throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A telegraphed right hand from Melartin misses the target. Rafael Melartin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Melartin loads up on a big right hand but Thomas slips the punch. Melartin throws a hook to the side of Thomas's head but Thomas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Melartin misses the jab. Melartin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Thomas at a distance.
Melartin throws out a loose jab but Thomas uses good head movement to avoid it. Thomas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Melartin. Thomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Melartin is fending him off so far but Thomas persists. Nope, Melartin circles away and we're back to standing. Thomas is breathing heavily. Thomas ducks under a wild hook from Melartin. Melartin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Thomas slips under a jab from Melartin. Melartin missing with a left hand there. Thomas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Melartin lands with a big right hook that stumbles Thomas - he's out on his feet here! Melartin follows up with another monster hook that separates Thomas from consciousness! Thomas falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Melartin stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
