Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Herald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayde Andazola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andazola has chosen Airbourne - Bottom Of The Well as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Justin Herald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wayde Andazola! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andazola clinches. Herald is trying to break the clinch but Andazola has him pressed against the cage. Andazola manages to pull guard.
Herald is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Andazola working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Herald. Herald stays in close to Andazola's body and controls the position. Andazola wants to stand and escape but Herald is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Herald engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Herald trying to control but Andazola is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Justin Herald just wasn't active enough. The fight stays on the outside here - Andazola looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Andazola tries to clinch but Herald is having none of it. Herald throws a head kick but Andazola moves out of range.
Herald throws a nice looking combination but Andazola bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Herald takes a swing at Andazola's ribcage but misses. Justin Herald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Andazola moves into the clinch. Herald takes a shot to the head. Herald breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Herald circles away from the clinch attempt letting Herald counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Herald is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Andazola pushes Herald up against the cage in a clinch. Herald stalls. Herald has a couple of punches blocked by Andazola.
Andazola breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Herald will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Herald throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Andazola. Andazola gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Andazola lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Herald backwards. Herald breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Herald scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Andazola tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Herald manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Justin Herald is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Andazola, as that shot connected.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andazola tries to clinch up but Herald circles away and keeps his distance. The fighters circling - Herald throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Herald looks to score with a jab to the body but Andazola is just out of range. Herald lands a nice shot that snaps Andazola's head back.

Herald throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Herald lands a jab to Andazola's midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd cheers as Herald lands an impressive looking overhand right. Andazola doesn't seem phased though. Herald tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice defenses there by Andazola. Andazola tries to clinch up but Herald circles away and keeps his distance. Herald misses with a wild combination.
Andazola tries to close the distance and clinch but Herald swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Andazola fails with an attempt to clinch.
Andazola clinches up with Herald and pushes him back against the cage. Herald breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Herald throws an overhand right that lands on Andazola's shoulder, as Andazola tries to avoid the shot. Herald lands a right hook to the body.
Andazola takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Herald is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Herald misses with an uppercut. Andazola saw that one coming. Herald circles away from the clinch attempt.
Herald throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Andazola crashing down! Andazola tries to stagger back to his feet but Herald just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Andazola asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Justin Herald! In his post fight interview, Justin Herald started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
