Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ljuti Hrcak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Catalino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ljuti Hrcak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Catalino! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Catalino shoots in but Hrcak avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hrcak tries to close the distance and clinch but Catalino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hrcak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Catalino moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hrcak tries to clinch but Catalino is having none of it. Catalino throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hrcak's waist but Hrcak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Catalino off to one side. Hrcak blocks a head kick by Catalino.
Catalino tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hrcak tries to clinch but Catalino moves out of range. Hrcak throws a hook to the side of Catalino's head but Catalino sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Catalino gets caught flat footed, as Hrcak shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hrcak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hrcak sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hrcak trying to control the position from guard on top but Catalino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Catalino wants to sweep but no luck. Catalino should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hrcak is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Catalino can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hrcak controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ljuti Hrcak just wasn't active enough. Hrcak tries to clinch up. Catalino takes the fight into the clinch. Hrcak tries to score a body lock takedown but Catalino shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Catalino prevents the takedown attempt.
Hrcak gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Catalino.
Ljuti Hrcak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Catalino. Hrcak misses with the head strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hrcak is trying to pull guard but Catalino has him pressed against the cage. Hrcak pulls Catalino into guard.
Hrcak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Catalino postures up.
Catalino looking to sit in guard and control but Hrcak gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Catalino utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hrcak slips nicely into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hrcak with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hrcak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Catalino looks gassed! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hrcak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Catalino keeps working. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ljuti Hrcak. A nice inside leg kick there by Hrcak. That's going to slow Catalino down. Catalino keeps the fight on the outside. Ljuti Hrcak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hrcak wants to clinch up but Catalino keeps it at a distance. Hrcak tries to close the distance and clinch up but Catalino swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hrcak shoots in looking for a takedown. Catalino tries to sprawl out of it but Hrcak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Catalino manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hrcak drives through and clinches with Catalino against the cage.

Hrcak gets a trip takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hrcak wants to control but Catalino is keeping him busy. Catalino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hrcak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Catalino can do anything to dispel that myth. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hrcak content to control rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ljuti Hrcak just wasn't active enough. Hrcak throws a head kick but Catalino moves out of range.

Ljuti Hrcak dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hrcak tries to close the distance and clinch up but Catalino swats him away and circles back towards the center. Catalino stuffs the takedown attempt from Hrcak. Hrcak gets slowly back to his feet. Catalino avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hrcak wants to clinch and Catalino counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Catalino. Hrcak is trying to pull guard but Catalino has him pressed against the cage. Catalino has Hrcak pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hrcak manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hrcak jumps guard but Catalino turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ljuti Hrcak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Catalino tries to pull guard but Hrcak holds him up against the cage and eventually Catalino drops back down to his feet.

Hrcak is looking for a takedown. Hrcak wants the takedown. Catalino is fighting it off but Hrcak persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Catalino's guard against the cage.

Catalino wants to sweep here but Hrcak controlling him for the moment. Hrcak with a flurry of punches that miss. Hrcak trying to control but Catalino is working from the bottom. Hrcak connects with a couple of short punches. Catalino is breathing heavily. Hrcak trying to control the position from guard on top but Catalino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hrcak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hrcak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Catalino is keeping the position for now. Hrcak trying to control but Catalino is working from the bottom.

Hrcak throws a series of punches but Catalino moves out of range. Catalino tries for a takedown but Hrcak circles away easily and Hrcak counters with a thumping low kick. Hrcak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Catalino tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hrcak is in Catalino's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hrcak stands up over Catalino, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hrcak sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Catalino's guard. Hrcak is trying to control the action in half guard but Catalino is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hrcak is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hrcak looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hrcak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Catalino is just riding it out for now. Hrcak eventually gives up the hold. Hrcak seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Catalino is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
