The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Jones Iii. No joy for Davis on that attempt.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones Iii tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones Iii manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Davis gets a double leg takedown into Jones Iii's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jones Iii looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there.
Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones Iii has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Jones Iii's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Davis distracts Jones Iii with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Davis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones Iii's guard.
Davis working over Jones Iii with some ground and pound. Jones Iii looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Davis drops an elbow to the side of Jones Iii's head.
Davis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Jones Iii is rocked!
Davis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones Iii with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jones Iii is still in real trouble! Can Davis finish him?

Davis scores with a big shot! Jones Iii's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Jones Iii! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
