Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Cola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolles Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Cola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolles Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cola throws a body punch but Rubio moves out of range.

Cola gets caught napping as Rubio dives in and scores a takedown. Cola manages to retain guard.
Rubio controlling from the top position.
Cola really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rubio tries to free his leg and advance position but Cola is retaining full guard.
Rubio is stalling in the full guard.

Rolles Rubio has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Cola looking to score a takedown here. Rubio is defending well but Cola drives through and ends up in Rubio's guard.
Rubio has his hands on Cola's head, controlling the position.
Cola will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rubio wants to sweep here but Cola controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rolles Rubio hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cola lands a head kick!

Cola fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rubio to the ground. Cola is now in Rubio's guard.
Rubio looking for a sweep. Not yet Rubio, not yet.
Rubio has Cola pulled in close to control his posture.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cola wants to pass the guard but Rubio is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cola moves into the clinch.
Cola blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rubio lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Cola manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rubio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cola swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rubio slips nicely into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rubio in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rubio wants to pass the guard but Cola is defending well.
Rubio controlling the pace.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like Rubio might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rolles Rubio was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Cola connects with a right hand. Rubio shakes it off.

Rubio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rubio prevents Cola from improving his position.
Rubio uses his free foot to push down on Cola's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cola.
Cola is trying desperately to improve position.

Rubio looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cola is working to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rubio controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rolles Rubio dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cola misses with a few strikes there.

Cola shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rubio napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rubio moves into full guard.
Cola has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rubio is pulling down on Cola's head. It's preventing any offense from Cola, at least for the moment.
Rolles Rubio has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cola trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rubio is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rolles Rubio wasn't active enough on the ground.
Rubio throws a head kick that misses.

Cola decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rubio has his hands clasped together around Cola's back. He's all about the action.
Rubio tries to roll over but Cola keeps him under control.

Rubio moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rubio is pulling down on Cola's head to control his posture.
Rubio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cola is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rubio slips a jab and a cross from Cola.

Rubio shoots in and bounces Cola off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rubio is stalling in the full guard.
Rubio pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cola is keeping the position for now.
Rubio is looking to advance position but Cola has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Cola prevents Rubio from getting the reversal.
Rubio tries to hold on but Cola pushes him away.
Rubio tries to reverse the position but Cola maintains control.
Cola throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Rubio manages to regain half guard. Good work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rubio is controlling Cola's trapped leg to prevent Cola from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rolles Rubio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Rubio gets tackled into the cage by Cola. Cola maintains the clinch.

Cola pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Greg Cola is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cola dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cola throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Greg Cola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rubio shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cola pinned against the cage. Cola gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rubio pulls Cola in close to prevent any damage.
Cola stopping the sweep attempt from Rubio.
Cola throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rubio works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cola trying to control the position from guard on top but Rubio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cola won't allow Rubio to sweep him here.
Rubio has control of Cola's left arm, preventing Cola from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Greg Cola just wasn't active enough.

Rubio feints and as Cola raises his hands in defense, Rubio changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rubio is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rubio's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Cola is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rolles Rubio wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cola closes the distance and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cola blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Rubio tries a body shot but Cola blocks it.
Rubio with an attempt at a knee that misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rubio throws an elbow but misses.
Rubio throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rubio tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Cola jumps guard and drags Rubio to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Rubio stays in close to Cola's body and controls the position.
Rubio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cola swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Still in half guard, Rubio seems content to control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rolles Rubio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rubio winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
