Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Bravura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theopolis Barrymore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barrymore is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Thing That Should Not Be. Theopolis Barrymore will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Bravura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Theopolis Barrymore!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrymore looks for a takedown but Bravura sprawls well.
Bravura swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Barrymore counters with a takedown into side control.
Bravura is looking for a sweep.
Bravura is not content to let Barrymore control the position.

Barrymore tries for a kimura but Bravura is defending well.

Barrymore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bravura, who protects the arm well.
Bravura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barrymore on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barrymore with the ground and pound but Bravura regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Barrymore is looking for a kimura here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barrymore wants to take a breather but Bravura is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barrymore throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bravura pushes Barrymore off looking to stand but Barrymore dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barrymore trying to control the action but Bravura is working from the bottom.

Barrymore is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bravura sees it coming and defends easily.

Barrymore looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Barrymore is looking for a kimura here.
Barrymore passes to side control.

Barrymore is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bravura has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bravura wants to get back to his feet but Barrymore drags him back down.
Bravura can't do much from the bottom here.
Barrymore wants to control but Bravura is keeping him busy.

Barrymore is trying to get an arm triangle but Bravura is defending well.

Barrymore tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Barrymore is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bravura is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bravura tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Barrymore presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Barrymore is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bravura is surviving well by controlling Barrymore's body position as best he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bravura is squirming around, avoiding Barrymore's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barrymore has control of Bravura's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bravura regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Barrymore working for a submission but Bravura is keeping him at bay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Theopolis Barrymore dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Barrymore closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bravura to the mat! Bravura manages to get full guard.
Bravura keeping moving, preventing Barrymore from controlling successfully.
Barrymore passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Barrymore tries for a kimura but Bravura is defending well.

Barrymore thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bravura is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Barrymore is controlling him well.

Bravura tries to escape but Barrymore is in control.

Barrymore is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bravura is trying to escape and Barrymore transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bravura is forced to tap! Nice work there by Barrymore! Very nice indeed!
