Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Macca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Valentine!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valentine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Macca's guard.
Valentine wants to control from the top but Macca keeps moving.
Valentine throws a big elbow that misses.
Valentine postures up.
Macca has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Valentine trying to control but Macca is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Macca forces Valentine back against the cage and clinches.
Macca tries to pull guard but Valentine won't allow it.

Macca manages to break the clinch.
Macca tries to clinch up but Valentine circles away and keeps his distance.
Mike Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Macca catches Valentine with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Macca tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valentine swivels and escapes.

Macca throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valentine's waist but Valentine gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Macca off to one side.

Macca throws a right hand that Valentine ducks under and follows up with a left that Valentine also avoids with ease.

Valentine drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Valentine decides to stand back up. Valentine steps back and let's Macca get back to his feet.
Macca looks for a takedown but Valentine sprawls well.
Macca is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Valentine shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Macca defends it nicely.
Macca really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Valentine doesn't manage to clinch there - Macca circles away.

Macca lands a leg kick that knocks Valentine off balance momentarily.

Horrible takedown by Macca or perhaps it was just good defense by Valentine which made him look bad.

Macca displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Valentine.

Valentine shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Valentine was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Valentine lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Valentine wants to finish this one by submission but Macca is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Valentine.
Valentine prevents Macca from getting the reversal.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Macca bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Valentine throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Valentine. No joy for Macca on that attempt.
Valentine shoots for a double leg takedown but Macca sprawls well. He's pushed Valentine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Macca is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Valentine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because Andrew Macca wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Valentine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Macca swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Macca throws a sloppy head kick and Valentine moves out of range easily.

Macca has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Valentine avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Macca creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Valentine's defenses.

Valentine changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Macca fights it off and pushes away nicely.
