Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Palermo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palermo's entrance music is Rock You Like a Hurricane by Scorpion. A fine choice. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Sato misses.
No joy there for Palermo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sato lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sato throws a lazy uppercut
and Palermo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sato thinking.
Sato looks to land a right hand but Palermo moved out of range.
Sato throws the kick towards the body but Palermo avoids it.
Sato misses with a two punch combination.
An inside leg kick from Sato misses.
Sato misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sato fails to land with a series of punches.

Sato throws a hook to the side of Palermo's head but Palermo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Palermo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Palermo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sato has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Palermo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Tom Sato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Palermo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sato is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Palermo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Palermo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Sato counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Palermo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sato misses with a kick to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sato lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Palermo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Palermo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Palermo plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Sato swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Sato face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
