Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Palmer Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saymon Saymon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer Ward has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Palmer Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Saymon Saymon! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saymon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Saymon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ward lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Ward gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ward has hold of one of Saymon's legs. Saymon is fighting the takedown attempt but Ward gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Saymon is working an open guard so Ward takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Ward fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saymon, pushing him back against the cage. Ward is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Saymon pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ward has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Saymon is trying to keep an underhook but Ward manages to get the takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ward stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Saymon drops his hands momentarily and Ward takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Ward rushes Saymon and presses him up against the cage. Ward is trying to trip Saymon. He has hold of a leg but Saymon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ward persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Saymon can't keep his opponent in guard - Ward advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ward decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward closes the distance and lands a one-two. Ward rushes Saymon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ward turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ward manages to end up in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Check out the look on Ward's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Ward decides to stand up, so the ref orders Saymon to his feet. Ward gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ward has clasped his hands together around Saymon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Ward decides to take the fight back to the feet. Saymon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Saymon needs to keep his hands up - Ward had a free shot at his head there.

Ward turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Ward decides to stand back up. Ward steps back and let's Saymon get back to his feet. Palmer Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ward lands a jab-cross combination. Ward moves into the clinch successfully.
Ward gets a trip takedown into half guard. Ward looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saymon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ward stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Saymon to get to his feet. Ward displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Ward gets a clinch. Ward has picked Saymon up - he's going for a ride! Ward dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Ward has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ward decides to stand and escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward lands the left hand. Ward stalks Saymon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Saymon's face. Saymon staggers backwards, shaken. Ward's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ward duly obliges. Ward lands a jab to the nose. Ward scores with a three punch combo!

Ward pushes Saymon up against the cage in a clinch. Ward gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Saymon regains guard.
Saymon is pulling down on Ward's head to control his posture. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ward accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ward forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ward decides to stand and escape the position. This has been an exciting period of action! A decent looking cross lands there for Ward. Ward clinches with his opponent.
Ward wants the takedown. Saymon is fighting it off but Ward persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Saymon's guard against the cage. Saymon trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Saymon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ward. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ward stands up and waves to Saymon to follow him. Saymon with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ward to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ward displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Saymon tries to clinch up but Ward circles away and keeps his distance. Ward clinches up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Palmer Ward dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ward scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Saymon dives in and grabs Ward's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ward pushes down on Saymon's head and hops out. Ward darts in and clinches Saymon up against the cage. Ward turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ward manages to end up in side control. Ward decides to stand back up. Ward steps back and let's Saymon get back to his feet. Ward lands a head shot. Saymon shoots in for a takedown but Ward shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ward bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Saymon's head. Ward's jab looks to have found its range, popping Saymon under the eye. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ward scores with a crisp jab that stopped Saymon in his tracks. Ward moves out of range of the leg kick from Saymon. Ward is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saymon can do to turn this around? Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ward closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ward lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Palmer Ward dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Saymon gets tackled into the cage by Ward. Ward maintains the clinch. Saymon tries to land knees in the clinch but Ward avoids the damage to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Saymon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ward is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Saymon to the mat. Saymon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ward landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ward frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ward get's back to his feet. Saymon takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ward rushes Saymon and presses him up against the cage. Ward is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Saymon is defending well. Ward has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Saymon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Palmer Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward goes for a takedown in the clinch but Saymon prevents it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saymon can do anything to dispel that myth. Ward stands and steps away. Saymon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Saymon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
