Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kel Varnsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Potz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Potz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kel Varnsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Craig Potz ! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potz moves in looking to clinch but Varnsen pushes him off. Potz wants to clinch up but Varnsen keeps it at a distance. The fight stays on the outside here - Potz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Varnsen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Varnsen lands some shots froms side control. Varnsen trying to control the action but Potz is working from the bottom. Varnsen working the body and head with strikes. Potz taking punishment in the form of punches.
Potz is working to avoid the ground and pound but Varnsen connects with a decent elbow. Potz taking punishment in the form of punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Varnsen trying to control the position but Potz is working away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Potz can do anything to dispel that myth. Varnsen is putting a hurting on Potz here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varnsen scoring with punches and elbows. Varnsen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Potz down.
Potz wants to control but Varnsen postures up. Potz is trying to get back to half guard. Potz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Varnsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Varnsen controlling the position from side mount. Varnsen lands a nice forearm strike. Varnsen working the head with strikes. Varnsen lands some shots froms side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Potz tries to bench press Varnsen off him but Varnsen keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varnsen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Varnsen trying to control the position but Potz is working away. Varnsen landing strikes. Potz can't do much from the bottom here. Varnsen working the body and head with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Potz is not content to let Varnsen control the position. Varnsen lands a few punches from side control. Varnsen cracks Potz with an elbow. That is naaassty. Potz is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Varnsen really is a fat lump. Varnsen working the body and head with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potz is not content to let Varnsen control the position. Potz wants to control but Varnsen postures up. Varnsen trying to control the position but Potz is working away. Potz is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Varnsen just content to control the position. Varnsen looks up at the clock and then as Potz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Varnsen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Varnsen working away. Potz is not content to let Varnsen control the position. Varnsen lands a decent elbow from side control. Varnsen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Varnsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potz keeps working. Potz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Varnsen is working Potz over with some ground and pound from side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Varnsen is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Varnsen working the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kel Varnsen dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Potz tries to clinch there but Varnsen circles away.
Potz tries to clinch but Varnsen is having none of it. Craig Potz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Potz tries to close the distance and clinch but Varnsen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Potz has Varnsen up against the cage in a clinch.
Potz creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Varnsen's defenses.
It looks like Kel Varnsen has been cut. Varnsen takes an elbow to the temple. Potz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Varnsen.
Potz lands an elbow inside. Varnsen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Potz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Varnsen has Potz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Potz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kel Varnsen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Potz misses with the head strike.
Varnsen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Potz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Potz lands an elbow that stopped Varnsen in his tracks for a moment.
Kel Varnsen's cut is getting worse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Potz gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kel Varnsen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Varnsen takes an elbow to the forehead.
Jeez, Kel Varnsen's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Potz lands an elbow just above Varnsen 's eye.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kel Varnsen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Craig Potz ! A very excited looking Craig Potz made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
