Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Cooperman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bearach Cunningham!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooperman misses with a hook. Cunningham ducked under it nicely.
Cooperman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cooperman throws out a powerful jab.
Cunningham misses with a hook
and Cooperman counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cunningham. Cooperman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cunningham connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cooperman's hands.
Cooperman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cunningham.
Cooperman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cunningham uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cooperman.

and Cooperman counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Cunningham slips under a jab.
Cunningham throws out a loose jab but Cooperman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cunningham fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bearach Cunningham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cunningham lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A lazy left from Cooperman finds it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cunningham scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cooperman tries to buck Cunningham off but Cunningham is having none of it.
Cooperman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cunningham connects with a decent elbow.
Cooperman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Cooperman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Cunningham creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cooperman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cooperman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cunningham wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cooperman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Cunningham tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Cooperman is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Cooperman parries the strikes from Cunningham easily there. Cunningham is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cooperman to escape.

It looks like John Cooperman has been cut.
Cunningham in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Cooperman looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Cunningham turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bearach Cunningham!
After the fight, Bearach Cunningham was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
