Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Vbahi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Vbahi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harry Potter!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vbahi is trying to defend but Potter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Vbahi looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Potter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Vbahi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vbahi tries to get out of the position.
Let's hope that Potter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Harry Potter was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Potter darts in and clinches Vbahi up against the cage.
Come on Potter - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Potter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vbahi can't find room to land a body shot as Potter controls the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter wants a takedown.

Potter pulls Vbahi into guard.
Vbahi tries to free his leg and advance position but Potter is retaining full guard.
Potter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Potter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vbahi's guard.

Potter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Potter clinches up against the cage.
Potter stalls.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Potter pulls guard effortlessly.
Potter trying to control the position.

Potter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vbahi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vbahi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Potter pulls Vbahi in close to prevent any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Potter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vbahi is one step ahead there.
Vbahi trying to control the position from guard on top but Potter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Potter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vbahi's half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Potter is looking to take a break and control but Vbahi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Vbahi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Potter scores with a couple of nice shots.

Potter is working for a submission of some sort.

Potter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vbahi has managed to free his arm - good work.
Vbahi pushes Potter off looking to stand but Potter dives back in and keeps control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Potter performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Vbahi on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Potter dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Potter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vbahi!
Potter trying to control but Vbahi is having none of it.
Vbahi is desperately trying to improve his position but Potter has a good base and remains in mount.
Vbahi is in a horrible position here. Potter smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Potter in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Potter landing punches.

Vbahi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Potter.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vbahi really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Potter raining down hammerfists from mount.
Potter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vbahi is looking to escape.

Potter lands a heavy elbow.

Potter controlling the position easily from mount.
Potter tries to control but Vbahi wriggling away.
Potter scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Potter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Potter working for a submission but Vbahi is keeping him at bay.
Potter cracks Vbahi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Potter get's back to his feet.
Potter tries to land a front kick but Vbahi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Potter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vbahi circles away quickly and effectively.
Potter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Potter looking to score a takedown here. Vbahi is defending well but Potter drives through and ends up in Vbahi's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter stopping the sweep attempt from Vbahi.
Potter tries to free his leg and advance position but Vbahi is retaining full guard.
Vbahi controls Potter momentarily but Potter frees himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Potter forces his way into half guard.
Potter is nestled in close to Vbahi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Potter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Potter works his way into full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Potter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Potter moves into range and clinches up with Vbahi.
Potter pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Potter tries for a takedown. No joy.
Potter tries to pull guard but Vbahi won't allow it.

Potter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Vbahi takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Potter decides to stand back up. Potter steps back and let's Vbahi get back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Potter is defended easily by Vbahi.
Matt Vbahi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry Potter.
Potter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Potter is looking to clinch.
Vbahi looks for a takedown but Potter sprawls well.

Potter gets a clinch.

Potter has picked Vbahi up - he's going for a ride! Potter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Potter works his foot free and advances to mount.
Harry Potter has got the better of the ground game so far.
A nice elbow there by Potter.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Potter working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Vbahi tries to reverse the position but Potter maintains control.
Vbahi tries to lock up and control but Potter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Potter has hold of Vbahi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vbahi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Vbahi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vbahi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Potter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Potter's back!

Potter defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Potter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Potter throws an elbow that misses. Vbahi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Potter's guard. Nice move by Vbahi!
Potter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Potter throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Vbahi throws a strike but Potter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Potter scoring with some ground and pound.
Potter controlling from the top position.
Matt Vbahi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Harry Potter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Potter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Potter gets to his feet - Vbahi follows without any prompting.

And that's the end of the fight!
Harry Potter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Potter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
