Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Barrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Keast Kann! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barrera finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Barrera lands a jab to Kann's midsection. Kann displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Barrera throws out the jab. Barrera shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kann is looking to improve his position.
Barrera wants to free his trapped foot but Kann is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kann is looking to improve his position.
Kann makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kann. Barrera pushing down on Kann's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Kann is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barrera pulls his head out easily. Barrera is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kann has managed to free his arm - good work. Kann is refusing to be controlled, as Barrera sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kann tries to roll over but Barrera keeps him under control. Kann is defending against the submission attempts here by Barrera.
Kann is looking to improve his position.
Barrera is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kann doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barrera. Kann is looking to improve his position.
Barrera wants to work for an arm triangle but Kann is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kann wants to improve his position but Barrera is controlling well.
Kann manages to get to full guard.
Kann lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Barrera! Barrera is looking to improve his position but Kann isn't that keen on the idea. Barrera is working hard here to advance position. Kann working the ground and pound effectively.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kann lands with some strikes.
Barrera is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kann unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Barrera wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Kann celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
