Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markus Mcbain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javier Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Javier Cruz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Markus Mcbain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcbain is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruz wants it to stay on the feet.

Horrible takedown by Mcbain or perhaps it was just good defense by Cruz which made him look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mcbain. Cruz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mcbain walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Mcbain throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cruz because Mcbain loaded up on that one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mcbain is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cruz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Mcbain unloads with some shots from mount but Cruz bucks and avoids them well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cruz is in a horrible position here. Mcbain smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Cruz is squirming around, avoiding Mcbain's attempts to control the action.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cruz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mcbain looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mcbain working for a submission but Cruz is keeping him at bay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cruz swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcbain.

Mcbain closes the distance and clinches.
Mcbain tries for a takedown but Cruz manages to get underhooks.
Cruz has had enough of the clinch but Mcbain keeps him there for the moment.

Mcbain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mcbain is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cruz.
Markus Mcbain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Cruz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mcbain circles away quickly and effectively.
Cruz tries to bum rush Mcbain with a series of wild strikes but Mcbain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sloppy strikes from Mcbain. Those never looked like landing.
Cruz lands a jab-cross combination.

Cruz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mcbain is defended easily by Cruz.
Javier Cruz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cruz drops his hands momentarily and Mcbain takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


It looks like Javier Cruz has been cut.
Mcbain throws a push kick but Cruz slaps the foot to one side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mcbain.

Mcbain tries for a takedown but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's time! Mcbain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Cruz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mcbain stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A combination from Cruz does no damage.
Cruz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cruz throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Mcbain crashing down! Mcbain tries to stagger back to his feet but Cruz just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Mcbain asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Javier Cruz!
Javier Cruz decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
