Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gray Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes to the cage accompanied by Biggie Smalls - Victory. Davis has chosen Sober by Tool as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gray Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Davis!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter walks into a straight right hand from Davis.


It looks like Gray Potter has been cut.
Davis throws a big shot that misses.
Potter misses with a double jab

and Davis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Potter pushes Davis off and gets back to his feet.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Potter's waist but Potter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.
Davis on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Potter connects with a body shot.
Potter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Davis.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis tries for a takedown but Potter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Potter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Davis.
Davis fails with the takedown.
Gray Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Davis.
Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Potter but Potter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Potter looks to score with a jab to the body but Davis is just out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Potter. Davis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Potter lands a nice shot that snaps Davis's head back.
Davis misses the jab.

Davis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Potter was covering up waiting for the punch and Davis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Davis wants to control from the top but Potter keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Potter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Potter is looking to stand up but Davis isn't so interested in that idea.
Davis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Potter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Potter seems keen to control Davis's posture.
Davis throwing strikes but missing.
Potter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davis.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis landing some decent shots from guard.
Potter is looking to stand up but Davis isn't so interested in that idea.
Potter wants to hit a switch here but Davis passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Potter there!
Davis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Davis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Potter is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You get the feeling that Potter really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Davis dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gray Potter's cut.
That's time! Potter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Davis misses with a straight left.
Davis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davis throws a looping overhand right but Potter ducks down to avoid it.
Potter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Davis throws a lazy uppercut
and Potter counters with a stiff right hand.
A cross from Davis lands.
Davis misses with a hook
and Potter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter throws a predictable looking body shot
and Davis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Potter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Davis throws an overhand right that drops Potter like a sack of potatoes! Davis dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Davis!
Jason Davis very nearly forgot to thank Charlie Wang's Nutrition and 95 % Laundry amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
