Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Gaffigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Baba O Reilly. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gaffigan's choice of entrance music: All In. Sammy Gaffigan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sammy Gaffigan!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gaffigan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Taylor is trying to defend but Gaffigan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gaffigan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gaffigan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gaffigan tries to control but Taylor wriggling away.
Gaffigan thowing shots but they're missing.

Gaffigan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Taylor has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Taylor!
Taylor wants to pass the guard but Gaffigan is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sammy Gaffigan wasn't active enough on the ground.

Taylor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Taylor thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gaffigan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Taylor.

Taylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Taylor shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gaffigan defends it nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gaffigan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Taylor is on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Taylor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gaffigan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Taylor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Taylor has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gaffigan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Taylor shoots for a takedown but Gaffigan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gaffigan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Taylor.

Taylor gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gaffigan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Gaffigan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gaffigan wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving.

Jason Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Gaffigan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Taylor won't be happy with that.

Gaffigan is keen to just control but Taylor is a slippery customer.
