Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vito Puzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burgess Meredith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burgess Meredith has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Vito Puzo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vito Puzo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Burgess Meredith! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meredith gets caught napping as Puzo dives in and scores a takedown. Meredith manages to retain guard. Puzo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Meredith is trying to control the position but Puzo postures up. Puzo stopping the sweep attempt from Meredith. Puzo with a flurry of punches that miss. Meredith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Puzo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Meredith trying to keep a closed guard but Puzo is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Burgess Meredith. Meredith is looking to clinch but Puzo is avoiding it.
Puzo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Meredith is trying to break free. A nice left hand lands by Puzo.

Puzo pushes Meredith up against the cage in a clinch. Meredith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Puzo just stands there and leans against the cage. Puzo lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Puzo gets underhooks to prevent Meredith's takedown attempt.
Puzo tries to break the clinch but Meredith is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice left hand lands by Puzo.
Meredith goes for a takedown attempt but Puzo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vito Puzo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Burgess Meredith. Puzo darts in and clinches Meredith up against the cage. Meredith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Puzo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Meredith is looking to clinch but Puzo is avoiding it.
Puzo shoots in but Meredith avoids the takedown attempt easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Puzo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Burgess Meredith has been cut. Puzo connects with a nice looking jab.
Puzo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Puzo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Meredith knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Puzo is looking to take a break and control but Meredith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meredith tries to buck Puzo off but Puzo is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Puzo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Meredith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Puzo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Meredith tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vito Puzo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Burgess Meredith's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Meredith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Puzo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Meredith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Puzo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Meredith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Puzo has Meredith in his guard. Meredithis looking to pass into half guard but Puzo pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Puzo is in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meredith keeping moving, preventing Puzo from controlling successfully. Meredith controls Puzo momentarily but Puzo frees himself. That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Vito Puzo just wasn't active enough. Puzo thuds his right hand into Meredith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Burgess Meredith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Meredith walks into a left hand. Meredith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Meredith moves to clinch but Puzo breaks away and Puzo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Meredith is rocked! Vito Puzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice defenses there by Meredith. Meredith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Puzo. No luck for Meredith with that takedown attempt. Puzo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Puzo lands in his opponent's guard. Meredith is still in real trouble! Can Puzo finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Puzo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Puzo gets to his feet - Meredith follows without any prompting. Puzo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Meredith slips under a jab. Puzo shoots and scores a devastating slam takedown! Meredith is unconscious as Puzo celebrates over his stricken foe!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Vito Puzo! A relieved looking Vito Puzo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
