Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasqs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Walton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Velasqs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Walton! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasqs jabs Walton right on the nose. Walton blinks but takes it well. Walton takes a swing at Velasqs's ribcage but misses. Walton tries to clinch but fails miserably and Velasqs counters with a lovely shot to the body. Walton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Walton misses the shot to the body. Walton misses with a straight left. Walton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Velasqs effectively controlling the action here. Velasqs prevents a body shot from Walton. Velasqs pulls guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Walton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Velasqs is proving hard to escape from. Walton is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Velasqs trying to control the position.
Velasqs has a closed guard, preventing Walton from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walton won't allow Velasqs to sweep him here. Walton tries to stand but Velasqs is controlling from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Walton missing with a left hand there. Velasqs was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Velasqs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tim Walton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Velasqs takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Walton has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Velasqs finds it's way round the side to connect with Walton's head. Velasqs blocks a head kick by Walton.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walton throws a sloppy head kick and Velasqs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Velasqs throws a head kick that misses. Walton avoids the head kick by Velasqs.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasqs scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Walton throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Walton closes the distance and pushes Velasqs back into the cage. Velasqs lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A short right from Velasqs on the inside. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Walton as Velasqs tries to tie him up. Velasqs blocks a body shot from Walton. Velasqs jumps guard but Walton stands there with Velasqs around his waist. Velasqs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Velasqs is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That was a close round but I would say that Cain Velasqs will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Walton takes the fight into the clinch. Walton pushes Velasqs back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Velasqs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Velasqs tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Walton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Velasqs blocks it with crossed arms. Walton throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Velasqs pulls guard effortlessly. Velasqs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Walton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Walton gets to his feet - Velasqs follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. A good leg kick by Velasqs. Velasqs is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Walton with a body punch. A glancing blow. Walton is looking to clinch. Walton tries to clinch there but Velasqs circles away.

Velasqs throws a push kick but Walton slaps the foot to one side. Walton clinches with his opponent.
Velasqs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walton just stands there and leans against the cage. Velasqs misses with a punch to the body.

Walton wants to stand but Velasqs is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velasqs working a defensive guard here.
Velasqs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Walton closes the distance but Velasqs moves to the side and Velasqs counters with a thumping low kick. Velasqs misses with a looping left. Velasqs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walton is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Velasqs rather than just go for the knockout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasqs connects with a solid leg kick. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Walton lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Velasqs has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Velasqs and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Walton looks to clinch and Velasqs counters with a slapping leg kick. Velasqs motions for Walton to come forward. Velasqs throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Velasqs throws an overhand right that lands on Walton's shoulder, as Walton tries to avoid the shot. Velasqs ducks under a wild hook from Walton. The fighters circling - Walton throws out the jab but it was never going to land. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Walton misses with a looping right. Walton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Velasqs is out of range and Walton settles back down. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Walton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Velasqs working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Velasqs digs a right hand into Walton's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Walton's gas tank. Velasqs lands a hook that snaps the head of Walton backwards. Walton lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Velasqs blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Velasqs creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Velasqs prevents a body shot from Walton. Velasqs breaks the clinch.
Walton delivers a nice body kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Velasqs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Velasqs is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. A head kick misses from Velasqs. Walton throws a body punch but Velasqs moves out of range. Walton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Velasqs.

And that's the end of the fight! Tim Walton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Walton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
