PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rap Reiplinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Am Perfection by Cage 9. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rap Reiplinger!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reiplinger throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Reiplinger misses with a looping left.
Reiplinger throws a right hand that Lee ducks under and follows up with a left that Lee also avoids with ease.
Lee throws a jab but it's blocked by Reiplinger.
Ricky Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee thows a left - swing and a miss!
Reiplinger throws a jab but it's blocked by Lee.
Lee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lee misses the shot to the body.
Reiplinger throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lee stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lee misses with a straight right.
Reiplinger is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lee.
Reiplinger shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.
Reiplinger walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reiplinger is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Reiplinger circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Reiplinger closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Reiplinger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Reiplinger has a takedown stuffed.
Reiplinger lands with a good body shot.
Lee throws the left hand but Reiplinger avoids the punch easily.
Reiplinger motions for Lee to come forward. Reiplinger throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lee looks to land a combination. Reiplinger sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Reiplinger avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reiplinger was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.

and Reiplinger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Reiplinger misses with an uppercut.
Reiplinger throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely.

Lee takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Reiplinger has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Reiplinger there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Reiplinger.
Reiplinger pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Reiplinger takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Reiplinger lands a glancing blow to the side of Lee's head.
Lee misses with a hook.
Lee takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Lee stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lee misses with a straight right.
Lee leaves Reiplinger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ricky Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rap Reiplinger.
Lee darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lee takes a swing at Reiplinger's ribcage but misses.
Lee looks to land a right hand but Reiplinger moved out of range.
Lee uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Reiplinger.

Reiplinger moves away from the strike by Lee.
Lee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Lee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Reiplinger's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lee won't allow Reiplinger to sweep him here.

Reiplinger looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Reiplinger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reiplinger on the ground.

Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reiplinger keeps working.

Reiplinger has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though.

Reiplinger is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Lee frees his head nicely. Oh but Reiplinger has switched to an armbar! Lee is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Rap Reiplinger!
Rap Reiplinger looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'not only did I win, but I'm pretty sure I gave him herpes!! POI DOGGGG!!!!'.
