Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Reno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francisco Rocha! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reno slips under a jab from Rocha. Rocha tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Reno takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rocha throws a hook but Reno blocks it. Rocha steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Reno. Rocha swings widly with a right hand
and Reno counters with a stiff right hand. Reno displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rocha throws out the jab. Francisco Rocha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rocha keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Reno slips a jab from Rocha. The fight moves into the clinch position. Reno wants to take the fight to the mat but Rocha manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Reno tries for a takedown but Rocha manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Reno. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rocha tries to break free but Reno pushes him back against the cage. Rocha lands a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Rocha. Reno tries for a takedown. No joy.
Rocha jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reno walks away with a smile on his face. Rocha gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Reno clobbers Rocha with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Reno will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rocha slips a jab from Reno. Nice uppercut lands for Reno. That snapped Rocha's head back.
Reno throws a head kick but Rocha moves out of range.
Rocha misses with a straight right. Reno steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rocha. Nice sprawl there from Rocha as Reno shoots in. Rocha paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Decent striking displayed by Rocha there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rocha throws a hook to the side of Reno's head but Reno sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rocha misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Reno.
Reno tries to keep at a distance but Rocha has taken the fight into the clinch. Reno is looking to take this one to the mat. Rocha is defending well against a takedown attempt. Rocha has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Reno uses from the top position. Rocha is trying to keep Reno in close.

Rocha is pulling down on Reno's head. It's preventing any offense from Reno, at least for the moment. Rocha keeping moving, preventing Reno from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reno working some strikes from top position. Rocha wants to get back to his feet but Reno is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rocha preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rocha working a defensive guard here.
Reno throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rocha works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Reno trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reno postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Reno missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocha wants to stand but Reno is controlling the position. Reno postures up.
Reno lands a couple of decent looking shots. Reno throws a big right hand that misses. Reno stops Rocha from standing up. Reno working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Reno is looking to work some ground and pound but Rocha has wrist control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rocha wants to stand up but Reno is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reno in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rocha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reno. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Reno throws a big elbow that misses. Rocha wants to control the position but Reno says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Reno missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rocha wants to sweep but Reno has passed to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Francisco Rocha will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rocha tries to clinch up but Reno circles away and keeps his distance. Rocha misses with a body shot
and Reno counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rocha won't be happy with that. Rocha struggling a bit here. Reno has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Reno happy to just control the position for now. Reno in side control lands a decent elbow. Reno just content to control the position. Mike Reno overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reno wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rocha keeps working. Reno lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reno landing strikes. Rocha wants to get back to his feet. Reno takes a little break here. Rocha wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Rocha is looking for a sweep. Reno is trying to get an arm triangle but Rocha is defending well. Rocha tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Reno presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! The referee warns Rocha that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Reno landing strikes from the mount. Reno can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rocha is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reno looking to finish Rocha with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rocha! Reno controlling from mount. Rocha really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Reno can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rocha is looking to escape. Reno is in the full mount, landing strikes. Reno lands with some strikes. Reno controlling the position easily from mount. Reno is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rocha can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rocha can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Reno connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Reno postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rocha looks a forlorn figure.
Rocha is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Reno controlling from the full mount. Reno has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rocha's face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Reno pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Reno lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Rocha is rocked! Reno is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rocha has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Reno dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Rocha rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Reno counters with a left to the body. Reno moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Rocha moves into range and connects with a jab. The fighters circle momentarily. Rocha darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Rocha tries to close the distance and clinch but Reno swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rocha tries to clinch but Reno moves out of range. Reno shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Rocha cracks Reno with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Francisco Rocha seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rocha misses with a left hand and Reno counters with a right hand to the body. Rocha moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Rocha thows a body shot but no joy. Rocha throws a shot from downtown. Reno moves away and avoids it. Rocha might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice uppercut there from Rocha. Rocha lands with a hook. Reno tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Rocha throws a sloppy body shot
and Reno counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Reno prevents Rocha from improving his position. Reno working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Reno lands a nice short elbow. Reno lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rocha can do anything to dispel that myth. This has been an exciting period of action! Reno looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rocha with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Reno works his way into full mount! Rocha can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reno raining down hammerfists from mount. A nice elbow there by Reno. Rocha is squirming around, avoiding Reno's attempts to control the action. Rocha tries to hold on but Reno pushes him away. Rocha tries to reverse the position but Reno maintains control. Reno working the ground and pound effectively.
Reno cracks Rocha with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rocha is still in real trouble! Can Reno finish him? Reno tries to control but Rocha wriggling away. Rocha seems to have recovered his senses. Reno controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocha wants to control but Reno is having none of it. Reno working Rocha over with strikes here. Reno postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Rocha in real trouble here! The ref calls for Rocha to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Reno! Mike Reno decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
