Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ricardo Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Dande!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Cruz enables Dande to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cruz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cruz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cruz striking off his back but it's not causing Dande any problems.
Cruz is working an open guard so Dande takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dande drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dande landing a few strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dande lands a nice forearm strike.
Cruz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Dande.
Dande stands up and beckons Cruz to his feet.
Dande closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cruz jumps guard but Dande turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dande lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cruz backwards.
Dande has Cruz pushed against the cage.
Dande continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on Dande's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Cruz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Cruz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dande stalls.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by James Dande.
Cruz tries to sprawl but Dande drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Dande thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cruz's head.
Dande seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dande drops an elbow to the side of Cruz's head.
Dande scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Dande passes the guard and advances to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dande landing strikes from the mount and Cruz is in trouble!
Dande has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cruz swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Cruz wants to hold on but Dande pushes him away.
Cruz is bucking up trying to escape but Dande cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Cruz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cruz is breathing heavily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dande breaks from Cruz's wrist control and lands an elbow.

BOOM! Dande connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Oh Cruz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dande lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Dande looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Cruz covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
