The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gesta will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gesta shoots in looking for a takedown but Vongkhamchanh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gesta's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vongkhamchanh looks to land a combination but Gesta avoids it well.
Mercito Gesta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gesta feints and as Vongkhamchanh raises his hands in defense, Gesta changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mercito Gesta was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Gesta shoots for a double leg takedown but Vongkhamchanh sprawls well. He's pushed Gesta's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gesta uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vongkhamchanh.
Gesta tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vongkhamchanh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gesta somewhat.

Vongkhamchanh throws a leg kick which misses Gesta's front leg but catches the back leg as Gesta tries to avoid it.

Gesta wants to control the pace but Vongkhamchanh is squirming around nicely.

Gesta goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Vongkhamchanh turns into him and now he's in Gesta's guard.

Mercito Gesta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Gesta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vongkhamchanh tries to avoid it but Gesta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vongkhamchanh to the ground. Vongkhamchanh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gesta bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vongkhamchanh's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gesta keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vongkhamchanh's head.

Mercito Gesta really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that XTREME PWNAGE: Down Under! logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
