Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garett Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter has chosen Ju Jitsu as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Garett Potter! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Potter lands in his opponent's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Potter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Williams trying to keep a closed guard but Potter is proving a slippery customer.
Potter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Potter has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted. Potter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now. Williams wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potter wants to pass the guard but Williams is keeping the position. Potter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Williams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Potter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Potter wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Williams throws his legs up looking for a submission but Potter uses it to pass to side control.
Potter decides to stand up, so the ref orders Williams to his feet. Williams shoots in but no luck this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Potter rushes Williams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Potter wants to stall.
Potter is trying to pull guard but Williams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Potter is working for takedown but Williams is calmly controlling the position for now. Potter looks gassed! Williams misses with a punch to the body.
Potter has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Brian Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Garett Potter. Williams working hard to break the clinch. A short left from Williams. A short right hand to the side of the head by Williams. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams tries to throw a body punch but Potter avoids it by throwing Williams back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams manages to break the clinch.
Potter checks a leg kick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Potter is defended easily by Williams. Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Potter moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Potter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Good standup being displayed there by Williams as he connects with a hook. Williams lands a two punch combo.
Potter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Potter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Potter throws a series of punches but Williams moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Potter has time to react. A shot to the liver by Williams. Beautiful body shot. Williams clobbers Potter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Potter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily. Williams lands a jab. Williams wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Williams scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Williams fails in his attempt to clinch. A right-left combo lands from Williams. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Brian Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Potter avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Williams dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Potter moves in looking to clinch but Williams pushes him off. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Potter. Potter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Williams punishes Potter's body with a nice straight punch. Williams defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Potter. Williams fails to land the takedown. Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Williams bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Potter's head. Potter is breathing heavily. Williams moves into the clinch. Nice body punch from Williams - that landed with a thud.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potter jumps guard but Williams stands there with Potter around his waist. Potter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Brian Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Garett Potter. Williams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Williams shoots in and bounces Potter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Williams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Potter is trying to control the position but Williams postures up. Williams trying to move into half guard but instead Potter has managed to sweep! Williams seems keen to control Potter's posture. Williams has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Potter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Potter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams pulls Potter in close to prevent any damage. Williams trying to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brian Williams. Williams scores with a nice head shot. Williams lands a nice hook to Potter's body. Potter takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Potter misses with a head kick.
Potter just misses with a punch to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Potter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams tests Potter's chin there with a solid looking shot. Williams looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Williams stopping the sweep attempt from Potter. Williams wants to control from the top but Potter keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Potter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Williams is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Williams dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Potter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Brian Williams is winning the standup battle so far. Potter throws a head kick that misses. Potter walks into a jab. Williams shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Potter eats them both and turns towards Williams to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Williams closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Williams is looking to take a break and control but Potter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Potter wants to control but Williams is keeping busy.
Williams stops Potter from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potter gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Williams throws an elbow that misses. Potter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Potter! Potter postures up and lands a big shot to Williams's brow. Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Potter tries to stand but Williams is controlling from the bottom. Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Potter on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potter tries to free his leg and advance position but Williams is retaining full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Potter trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Brian Williams just wasn't active enough. Williams scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Williams stuns Potter with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Potter moves to clinch but Williams breaks away letting Williams counter with a right hand. Williams forces Potter back against the cage and clinches. Williams pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Potter wants to clinch and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Williams jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Williams. Potter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Potter gets slowly back to his feet. Williams lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Nice shot by Williams. Williams connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Williams connects with a nice looking jab.
Williams connects with a crisp jab. Williams clobbers Potter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Potter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Williams circles away. Williams displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Potter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Williams circles away quickly and effectively. Williams throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Potter. Brian Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Garett Potter. Potter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Williams lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Williams avoids the head kick by Potter.
Potter takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Williams tries to clinch but Potter moves away and Potter counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Potter. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Still in the clinch, Williams scores with a nice short uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice body punch from Williams - that landed with a thud.
Garett Potter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brian Williams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Potter keeps control of Williams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
