Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Tataglia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gustavo Koenig!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koenig tries to bum rush Tataglia with a series of wild strikes but Tataglia uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Koenig decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tataglia's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Koenig tries to free his leg and advance position but Tataglia is retaining full guard.
Koenig sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tataglia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Koenig counters by moving into the clinch.

Koenig has hold of one of Tataglia's legs. Tataglia is fighting the takedown attempt but Koenig gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Koenig seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Tataglia will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Koenig has closed the distance and engaged Tataglia in a clinch.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tommy Tataglia.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gustavo Koenig hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tataglia shoots in for a takedown but Koenig shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Koenig tries to close the distance and clinch but Tataglia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Koenig takes a little break here. Tataglia wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Koenig lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Koenig just content to control the position.

Tataglia gets caught napping as Koenig dives in and scores a takedown. Tataglia manages to retain guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Koenig is looking to advance position but Tataglia has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Tataglia doesn't manage to clinch there - Koenig circles away.

Koenig closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tataglia's guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Tataglia dives in and grabs Koenig's left leg, looking for a takedown. Koenig pushes down on Tataglia's head and hops out.

Well, if Koenig is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Koenig throws a series of punches but Tataglia avoids them all with ease.

Koenig looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Tataglia!
Tataglia wants to hold on but Koenig pushes him away.
Koenig is landing with some decent strikes but Tataglia is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Gustavo Koenig showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
