The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holden pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Judge Holden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tavarez checks a low kick from Holden.
Tavarez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Holden. That did some damage!
Tavarez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tavarez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tavarez looks to land a combination. Holden sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Judge Holden has been cut.

Tavarez ducks under a wild hook from Holden.
Holden lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holden connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Tavarez moves out of range of the strikes.
Tavarez throws a sloppy head kick and Holden moves out of range easily.
Holden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tavarez.
Tavarez throws a series of punches but Holden moves out of range.
Tavarez dodges the punch combination from Holden.

Holden defending well as Tavarez loads up on a big left hand.
Holden misses with a few strikes there.
Holden takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tavarez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Holden connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tavarez scrambles back to his feet.
Holden lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Tavarez sprawling to the canvas. Holden follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Tavarez hang on?
Tavarez is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tavarez is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Holden has latched onto it... Big trouble! Holden pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Tavarez is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Holden!
