Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Petr Van Hooven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Amokachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amokachi has chosen Fuck The Police as his entrance music. Petr Van Hooven has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petr Van Hooven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Amokachi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amokachi gets a double leg takedown into Van Hooven's guard.
Amokachi prevents Van Hooven from getting back to his feet.
Amokachi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Van Hooven is looking to stand up but Amokachi isn't so interested in that idea.
Van Hooven keeping moving, preventing Amokachi from controlling successfully.
Amokachi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Amokachi's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. David Amokachi was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Van Hooven is looking to clinch but Amokachi is avoiding it.

Van Hooven has Amokachi up against the cage in a clinch.
Van Hooven lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Van Hooven unloads a knee to the mid-section. Amokachi lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Van Hooven using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Amokachi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Amokachi has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Van Hooven is trying to keep an underhook but Amokachi manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Amokachi is looking for a kimura here.
Van Hooven is looking to escape.
Amokachi works his way into full mount!

Van Hooven bucks up and throws Amokachi to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Van Hooven tries to close the distance and clinch up but Amokachi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Petr Van Hooven is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Amokachi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Van Hooven is looking to escape.
Van Hooven is not content to let Amokachi control the position.

Amokachi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van Hooven sees it coming and defends easily.

Van Hooven blocking the ground and pound attempt from Amokachi.

Amokachi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Amokachi prevents Van Hooven from standing back up.
Amokachi is trying to control the action in half guard but Van Hooven is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Amokachi wants to free his trapped foot but Van Hooven is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Van Hooven is trying to stand up here but Amokachi is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Amokachi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Van Hooven doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Amokachi.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Amokachi wants to take a breather but Van Hooven is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Van Hooven pushes Amokachi off looking to stand but Amokachi dives back in and keeps control.
Amokachi looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Amokachi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Amokachi dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Amokachi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Van Hooven!
Amokachi won't let Van Hooven get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Van Hooven wants to get back to his feet.
Amokachi with a couple of short strikes.
Amokachi controlling his opponent.
Amokachi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Van Hooven looks a forlorn figure.
Amokachi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Amokachi lands a big elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Amokachi breaks from Van Hooven's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Van Hooven knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Amokachi on the ground.
Amokachi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Amokachi pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Amokachi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
BOOM! Amokachi connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Amokachi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Amokachi lands with some strikes.
Amokachi is stalling here but it's allowed Van Hooven to get half guard.

Amokachi is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Van Hooven is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). David Amokachi!
After the fight, David Amokachi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
