PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikio Okita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcel Madnick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madnick has chosen Mad Man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikio Okita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcel Madnick!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okita looks to score with a jab to the body but Madnick is just out of range.
Madnick tries to land a leg kick but Okita saw it coming and moves away.
Madnick misses with a series of wild punches.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Madnick lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Okita has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Okita and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Okita takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Okita throws the left hand but Madnick avoids the punch easily.
Madnick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Okita paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Madnick lands a nice leg kick that just misses Okita's sensitive parts.
Okita thows a body shot but no joy.
Okita avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Okita scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Madnick doesn't seem bothered though.
Madnick misses with a wild combination.
Madnick tries to clinch but Okita moves out of range.

Okita fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Madnick to the ground. Okita is now in Madnick's guard.
Madnick is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Okita is controlling him.
Okita trying to control but Madnick is working from the bottom.

Okita stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madnick swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Okita trying to control the position from guard on top but Madnick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mikio Okita just wasn't active enough.
Okita defending well as Madnick loads up on a big left hand.
A lazy left from Madnick finds it's target.
Okita looks to throw the jab but Madnick is out of range.
Madnick ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Okita moves away.
Madnick throws a nice looking combination but Okita bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Madnick misses with a series of wild punches.
Okita checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Madnick takes one on the button.
Madnick connects with a looping right hand.
Okita misses with a wild body shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Okita checks a leg kick.
Madnick tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A nice leg kick lands there from Madnick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Madnick misses with a double jab.
Marcel Madnick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Okita avoids the body shot from Madnick.
Madnick throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Okita thows a body shot but no joy.

Okita is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Madnick.

Okita fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Madnick avoids it really well and circles away.
Okita blocks a low kick nicely.

Okita is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Madnick doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Okita.
Okita is trying to control the action in half guard but Madnick is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Madnick wants to get back to full guard.
Okita wants to control but Madnick is keeping him busy.
Okita is pressing down on Madnick's thigh, looking to free his foot. Madnick is holding on for now.

Okita is stalling here. Madnick is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Okita seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Madnick has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Madnick decides to stand back up. Madnick steps back and let's Okita get back to his feet.
Madnick tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Okita is able to avoid easily.
Okita uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Madnick.
Madnick throws a leg kick that is checked
and Okita counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Madnick uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Okita.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Madnick slips under a jab from Okita.
Marcel Madnick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Okita swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Madnick cracks the inside of Okita's front leg.
Madnick takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Madnick pushes Okita back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
