Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Alverez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven de Pina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alverez comes to the cage accompanied by ALL DAY. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Alverez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven de Pina!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Pina throws a hook but Alverez blocks it.
Alverez lands with a nice body kick.
Alverez slips under a jab from de Pina.
de Pina lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A combination from de Pina does no damage.
de Pina throws a series of punches but Alverez avoids them all with ease.
de Pina lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Alverez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alverez lands a front kick.
de Pina has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alverez finds it's way round the side to connect with de Pina's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! de Pina crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Alverez - the referee stops the clock and de Pina gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Alverez. de Pina manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Alverez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

de Pina misses with a jab, cross combination.
de Pina feints with a jab and clips Alverez right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Alverez is sent crashing into the canvas and de Pina leaps in for the kill! Alverez tries to get to his feet but de Pina is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Alverez is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steven de Pina!
After the fight, Steven de Pina was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
