Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gregry Tivolvich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jean Claude Von Zanssen! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tivolvich thows a body kick. Von Zanssen tries to catch it but that hurt him. Tivolvich avoids the head kick by Von Zanssen.
Tivolvich tries to clinch but Von Zanssen moves out of range. A big left from Von Zanssen misses. Von Zanssen avoids the head kick by Tivolvich.
That kick from Von Zanssen tenderised Tivolvich's leg. Tivolvich is trying to keep his angry face on. A shot to the body from Von Zanssen misses and Tivolvich decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Von Zanssen's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Tivolvich showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Von Zanssen is looking for a triangle here but Tivolvich uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Von Zanssen is trying to control Tivolvich's posture but Tivolvich avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tivolvich tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Von Zanssen is trying to work for a sweep but Tivolvich has mounted him! Tivolvich cracks Von Zanssen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tivolvich looking to control and managing it successfully. Tivolvich has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tivolvich postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Von Zanssen looks a forlorn figure.
Tivolvich putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Von Zanssen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tivolvich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tivolvich controlling from mount. Tivolvich working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tivolvich scoring with strikes but Von Zanssen is staying in there. Von Zanssen looks gassed! Tivolvich looking to finish Von Zanssen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Von Zanssen! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tivolvich with shots to the head and body - Von Zanssen looks very uncomfortable down there. Tivolvich controlling from the full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tivolvich cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tivolvich landing strikes from the mount and Von Zanssen is in trouble! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tivolvich tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tivolvich get's back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Von Zanssen throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gregry Tivolvich dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice jab there from Tivolvich. Von Zanssen misses with a hook
and Tivolvich counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Von Zanssen's guard now. Tivolvich pushing down on Von Zanssen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Tivolvich is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Tivolvich controlling from the full mount. This has been an exciting period of action! Tivolvich pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Von Zanssen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Von Zanssen is breathing heavily. Tivolvich looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tivolvich seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Von Zanssen for as long as he can get away with. Tivolvich lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Tivolvich is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Tivolvich!
