Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Scaletta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Addell! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scaletta darts in and clinches Addell up against the cage. Addell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Scaletta has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Addell clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Will Scaletta go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Scaletta tightening his grip on Addell, looking for the choke. Addell is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's one minute gone in the round. Addell covering up well under a barage of strikes. Scaletta has good solid back control here. Addell trying to control but not successfully. Scaletta lands strikes to the head.

Vito Scaletta dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Scaletta tries for a takedown but Addell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Scaletta throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Addell was covering up waiting for the punch and Scaletta finishes the takedown easily into guard. Addell keeping moving, preventing Scaletta from controlling successfully. Addell has a closed guard, preventing Scaletta from standing up. Vito Scaletta overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Addell is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Addell looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Scaletta drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scaletta jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Scaletta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Addell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Scaletta sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Vito Scaletta has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Addell leaves Scaletta with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scaletta shoots in for a double leg but Addell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vito Scaletta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scaletta closes the distance and pushes Addell back into the cage. Scaletta gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Addell.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scaletta avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Scaletta wants to get back to his feet but Addell is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Scaletta thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Scaletta looking to hit a scissor sweep but Addell is one step ahead there. Scaletta is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Scaletta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vito Scaletta dominated that second round. That's time! Scaletta's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Scaletta circles away from the clinch attempt and Scaletta counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Scaletta. Scaletta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Scaletta shoots in for a takedown but Addell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Scaletta is trying hard to land a takedown here. Addell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Addell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Scaletta fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vito Scaletta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scaletta throws a one two combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scaletta fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Scaletta tries for a takedown but Addell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Addell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scaletta closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Scaletta drops down looking for an ankle pick but Addell pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scaletta shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Addell fails with a takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Addell as Scaletta shoots in.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Addell closes the distance and clinches up with Scaletta, looking for a takedown. Addell pushes Scaletta against the cage but Scaletta circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Scaletta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Scaletta throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Scaletta has taken the fight to the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Scaletta.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Addell is trying to drag Scaletta to the mat but Scaletta just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Scaletta wants to take the fight to the mat but Addell manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Addell is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Scaletta is defending well. Scaletta has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Addell is trying to keep an underhook but Scaletta manages to get the takedown into half guard. Scaletta controlling the pace. Scaletta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Addell on the ground. Addell looking for submissions off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Vito Scaletta showed his dominance in that final round. Well Scaletta has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
