Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Staehlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Staale Dal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Staehlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Staale Dal!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dal sizes up Staehlin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dal scores with a nice strike.
Dal throws a right and a left that Staehlin avoids nicely.
Staehlin slips a jab and a cross from Dal.
Dal misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dal swinging wildly here.
The fighters circling - Dal throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dal is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Staehlin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Staehlin swings for the body but Dal moves out of range.
Dal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Staehlin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Dal swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Staehlin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dal's guard.
Staehlin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Staehlin throwing strikes but missing.

Dal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Staehlin wants to control from the top but Dal keeps moving.
Staehlin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chris Staehlin wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Staehlin gets a double leg takedown into Dal's guard.
Staehlin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dal works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Staehlin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chris Staehlin.

Dal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Staehlin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Staehlin comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Staehlin lands an elbow inside that Dal shrugs off.

Staehlin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Staale Dal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Staehlin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dal is working an open guard so Staehlin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Staehlin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dal takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Staehlin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Dal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Staehlin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
