Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Alves enables Gracie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alves manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Alves utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alves wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves kicks Gracie off and gets to his feet.

Alves drives through and clinches with Gracie against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gracie just misses with a elbow thrown towards Alves's brow.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Alves fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.
Alves shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gracie pinned against the cage. Gracie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.

Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alves avoids it really well and circles away.
Alves dives in and grabs Gracie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes down on Alves's head and hops out.
