Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Wanderlei Silva had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Hulk Hogan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wanderlei Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Silva.
Hogan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Silva is looking to stand up but Hogan isn't so interested in that idea.
Hogan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hogan, into his guard.
Hogan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hogan is keeping the position for now.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hogan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard.

Silva is looking to stand up but Hogan isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva wants to sweep but no luck.
Hogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.
Hogan stops Silva from standing up.
Silva has control of Hogan's left arm, preventing Hogan from doing any damage.
Hogan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hogan wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.
Hogan throws a big right hand that misses.

Hogan postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hogan!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hogan is looking to escape.
Hogan is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hogan is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.
Hogan tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hogan keeps working.
Hogan is looking to get back to full guard here but Silva has managed to pass to side control instead.
Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hogan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Hogan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hogan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wanderlei Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hulk Hogan.
Hogan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Silva. That one must have hurt.
Horrible takedown by Hogan or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Wanderlei Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice uppercut lands for Silva. That snapped Hogan's head back.
A left and a right from Silva both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Hulk Hogan has been cut.
Silva with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Hogan.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hogan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hogan seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hogan.
Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hogan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Hogan eventually gives up the hold.

Hogan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Silva is trying to maintain the position but Hogan is very close to passing his half guard.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Hogan seems to be looking for submissions.
Hogan wants to pass to mount but Silva is defending the position.

Hogan shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hogan shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hogan doesn't seem phased though.

Silva tries to lock up and control but Hogan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hogan looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Silva is wriggling around trying to escape.
Silva wants to control but Hogan is having none of it.
Hogan swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Hogan's guard. A big mistake from Hogan there, giving up the dominant position!

Hogan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silva defends it easily.

Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Hogan is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.
Hogan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hulk Hogan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hogan is proving hard to escape from.
Hogan is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.
Hogan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hogan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Silva escapes and throws Hogan's legs to the side, diving into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hulk Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Hulk Hogan's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Silva gets a clinch.
A shot in the inside from Silva.
Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A head kick lands from Silva that sends Hogan to the canvas. Hogan tries to scramble back to his feet but Silva brings him back down into side control.
Hogan is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva taking a breather here.
Hogan is still in real trouble! Can Silva finish him?
Silva scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hogan is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Silva can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
