Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cael Sanderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Finch! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sanderson stuns Finch with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sanderson. Finch manages to get back to half guard. Sanderson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Finch defending well though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanderson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Finch's head. Sanderson is thwarting Finch's attempts to control the position. Finch has hold of Sanderson's hands but Sanderson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Sanderson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sanderson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sanderson seems to be working for a kimura but Finch defends the submission attempt. Finch is trying to maintain the position but Sanderson is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch is looking to get back to full guard here but Sanderson has managed to pass to side control instead. A nice elbow there by Sanderson. Finch tries to reverse the position but Sanderson maintains control. Sanderson raining down shots from the mount! Sanderson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Sanderson lands a big shot there that rocks Finch but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Sanderson breaks from Finch's wrist control and lands an elbow. Sanderson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Finch seems to have recovered his senses. A nice elbow there by Sanderson. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Finch is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Finch slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Finch will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Finch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanderson manages to get himself to full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Finch's corner. There ya go! There ya go! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sanderson is on top in guard.

Finch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cael Sanderson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sanderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Finch tries to hold on but Sanderson pushes him away. Finch in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. A nice elbow there by Sanderson. Sanderson with shots to the head and body - Finch looks very uncomfortable down there. Sanderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Finch's face.
Finch wants to control but Sanderson is having none of it. Sanderson punishing his opponent with strikes. Sanderson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Finch is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Finch and Sanderson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Sanderson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Finch, who protects the arm well. Sanderson working the ground and pound. Sanderson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Finch some visible discomfort.
Cael Sanderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sanderson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Finch to see if he's OK. Sanderson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Finch is looking for a sweep.

and Finch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sanderson's guard now. Sanderson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Finch is one step ahead there. Sanderson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Finch has passed into half guard!
Finch decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Finch avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Cael Sanderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Sanderson. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sanderson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Sanderson wants to control but Finch is keeping him busy. Finch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanderson is working away from the top position though. Sanderson winds up and cracks Finch with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Finch is trying to stand.

Finch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sanderson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sanderson preventing the sweep. Sanderson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Sanderson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Sanderson throwing strikes but missing. Sanderson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sanderson connects with a couple of short punches.

Sanderson throws a strike but Finch rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sanderson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Sanderson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Finch can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Finch regains half guard. Ryan Finch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Finch preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sanderson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sanderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Finch with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that's the end of the fight! Cael Sanderson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
