Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Duggan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pantera -Slaughtered. Patterson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by "I'm Too Sexy". Pete Patterson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Duggan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pete Patterson! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Patterson. Patterson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Duggan.
It looks like Jim Duggan has been cut. Duggan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Patterson.
Duggan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Duggan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Patterson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Patterson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Patterson wants to stand and escape but instead Duggan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duggan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Patterson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Patterson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Duggan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Patterson keeping full guard, as Duggan tries to pass. Duggan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Duggan prevents Patterson from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson wants to sweep here but Duggan controlling him for the moment. Patterson is working an open guard so Duggan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Patterson moves away from the strike by Duggan. Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Duggan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Patterson. Patterson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duggan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Patterson somewhat. Jim Duggan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pete Patterson. Patterson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Duggan.

Patterson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duggan as he avoids it easily. A big right from Duggan misses. Duggan thows a body shot but no joy. Patterson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patterson rushes Duggan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Duggan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Duggan stands up and waves to Patterson to follow him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Duggan gets a takedown into half guard. Duggan passes the guard and advances to mount! Duggan controlling from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duggan avoids the attempt from Patterson to control. Patterson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Duggan. Duggan avoids the attempt from Patterson to control. Patterson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Duggan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duggan unloading with bombs! Patterson tries to lock up and control but Duggan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Duggan thowing shots but they're missing. Duggan looking to finish with strikes here!
Duggan throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Patterson because Duggan loaded up on that one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Duggan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Duggan throwing strikes here but Patterson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Duggan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Patterson moves away. Duggan throws a right hand that Patterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Patterson also avoids with ease. Patterson clinches with his opponent.
Duggan is trying to break free. Patterson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Duggan walks away with a smile on his face. Patterson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Patterson looking to score a takedown here. Duggan is defending well but Patterson drives through and ends up in Duggan's guard. Patterson looking to sit in guard and control but Duggan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Duggan is looking to work some ground and pound but Patterson has wrist control. Patterson keeping full guard, as Duggan tries to pass. Patterson is looking to stand up but Duggan isn't so interested in that idea. Patterson working a defensive guard here.

Horrible takedown by Patterson or perhaps it was just good defense by Duggan which made him look bad. Duggan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Patterson shoots in looking for a takedown. Duggan tries to sprawl out of it but Patterson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duggan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jim Duggan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Duggan is looking to wear down Patterson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Patterson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Duggan takes a step back to recover. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Duggan throws a looping overhand right but Patterson ducks down to avoid it. Duggan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Patterson stacks Duggan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Patterson! Patterson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Patterson is looking to take a break and control but Duggan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Patterson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Duggan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Patterson's best efforts. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duggan keeping moving, preventing Patterson from controlling successfully. Duggan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Patterson defends well.

Patterson is nestled in close to Duggan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Patterson winds up and cracks Duggan with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Duggan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Patterson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Patterson not doing much here.
Duggan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Patterson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duggan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Patterson has managed to get both his arms back between Duggan's legs - danger averted. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
