Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hammy Cakes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karlo Ninsen! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ninsen gets caught flat footed, as Cakes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Cakes is stalling in the full guard. Ninsen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cakes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ninsen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cakes trying to control but Ninsen is working from the bottom. Ninsen trying to keep a closed guard but Cakes is proving a slippery customer.
Cakes stays in close to Ninsen's body and controls the position. Cakes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cakes wants to control but Ninsen is keeping him busy. Cakes advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cakes moves to take his opponent's back. Ninsen tries to roll but Cakes sticks to his back.
Cakes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ninsen has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Ninsen is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Ninsen controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ninsen wants to escape the position.
A lull in the action here.
Cakes working for a choke but Ninsen is defending well. This has been an exciting period of action! Ninsen rolls, trying to escape but Cakes keeps control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cakes avoiding Ninsen 's attempts to control his hands. Ninsen looks gassed! A lull in the action here.
Cakes has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Ninsen is in real trouble here. Cakes gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Ninsen is tapping out! Cakes wins by rear naked choke!
