Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kage Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heero Yuy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Coma Black - Marilyn Manson kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Heero Yuy acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuy throws a head kick but Chiba moves out of range.
Yuy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chiba tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Yuy is in Chiba's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Yuy wants to control from the top but Chiba keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yuy tries to free his leg and advance position but Chiba is retaining full guard.
Yuy is looking to work some ground and pound but Chiba has wrist control.

Chiba really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Yuy darts in and clinches Chiba up against the cage.
Yuy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Heero Yuy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Yuy misses its intended target.
Yuy throws out a loose jab but Chiba uses good head movement to avoid it.

Yuy throws a right hand that Chiba ducks under and follows up with a left that Chiba also avoids with ease.

Yuy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chiba moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Yuy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chiba moves away.

Yuy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yuy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Chiba fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yuy avoids it really well and circles away.

Chiba shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kage Chiba. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yuy looks to land a combination but Chiba avoids it well.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chiba is defended easily by Yuy.
Yuy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chiba will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chibais looking to pass into half guard but Yuy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Yuy is in guard.
Yuy wants to control from the top but Chiba keeps moving.

Yuy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yuy tries to free his leg and advance position but Chiba is retaining full guard.

That's time! Chiba's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Yuy throws a right hand that Chiba ducks under and follows up with a left that Chiba also avoids with ease.
Yuy gets a clinch.
Yuy tries to circle away but Chiba has him pinned against the cage.
Chiba is working for takedown but Yuy is calmly controlling the position for now.
Yuy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chiba has him pressed against the cage.
Chiba has clasped his hands together around Yuy's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Chiba looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Chiba has control of Yuy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yuy regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Chiba goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Yuy is on top in guard.
Kage Chiba overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chiba drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chiba jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Chiba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yuy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yuy has escaped and now he's on top!
Yuy throws a big right hand that misses.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kage Chiba.
I think Chiba has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
