Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leon Bridges! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny McCormick! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bridges shoots in looking for a takedown but McCormick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bridges's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bridges blocks a head kick by McCormick.
McCormick fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A solid leg kick lands there for McCormick.
Bridges avoids a low kick by using good footwork. McCormick is looking to score with low kicks. McCormick connects with an inside leg kick. McCormick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bridges. McCormick misses with a leg kick. McCormick lands with a nice body punch. McCormick connects with an inside leg kick. Kenny McCormick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McCormick slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCormick scoring well with a low kick there.

No luck for Bridges with that takedown attempt. Bridges throws a hook but McCormick avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bridges moves out of range as McCormick throws a body kick.
McCormick swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bridges misses the body punch and McCormick counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bridges's knee momentarily. Nice cross by McCormick. McCormick takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. McCormick tries to sprawl but Bridges drives through with a takedown into half guard. Bridges throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. McCormick holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCormick is looking to escape. Bridges trying to control from half guard but McCormick is working away. McCormick is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bridges's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bridges's back! McCormick is riding his opponent, not letting Bridges buck him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCormick controlling well, preventing Bridges from escaping the position.
Bridges is working hard here to advance position. McCormick punches the canvas rather than the man. Bridges wants to control his opponent's hands but McCormick gets his hands free. I really don't envy Bridges right now.
McCormick slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bridges avoids the strikes from McCormick. McCormick trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Bridges trying to control the hands but McCormick breaks the grip. Bridges tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! McCormick takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCormick throwing strikes here but Bridges is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
McCormick has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bridges is wriggling around trying to escape.
McCormick controlling his opponent. Bridges wants to hold on but McCormick pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bridges looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. McCormick controlling from the full mount.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McCormick lands with a slapping head kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bridges looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Bridges. That's going to take a lot out of him. McCormick throws a good cross that connects.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny McCormick dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McCormick motions for Bridges to come forward. McCormick throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Nice takedown defense from McCormick. No joy for Bridges on that attempt. Bridges swings for the body but McCormick moves out of range.
McCormick slaps away a takedown attempt from Bridges, before circling back to the center of the mat. The fighters circle, before McCormick throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Bridges's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! McCormick lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Kenny McCormick! Kenny McCormick retains his middleweight title! Kenny McCormick managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, Steel Penn's Laundry 93%, into his post fight interview.
