Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Downe Syndrome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teej King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teej King has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Downe Syndrome!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Teej King!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King takes a shot right to the bread basket.
King tries to clinch there but Syndrome circles away.
Syndrome lands a nice looking kick to the body. King takes a step back to recover.

Syndrome scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
King slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now King is on top in guard.
King stopping the sweep attempt from Syndrome.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Syndrome is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

King is looking to take a break and control but Syndrome is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Syndrome is looking to get back to full guard here but King has managed to pass to side control instead.
Syndrome is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Syndrome wants to control but King is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Syndrome keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
King blocks Syndrome's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
King tries to control but Syndrome wriggling away.
Syndrome is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Syndrome is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The referee warns Syndrome that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Syndrome is trying desperately to improve position.
Syndrome is breathing heavily.

King cracks Syndrome with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
King tries to control but Syndrome wriggling away.
Syndrome wants to hold on but King pushes him away.
King landing strikes from the mount and Syndrome is in trouble!
Syndrome tries to hold on but King pushes him away.
Syndrome slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
King missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
King is stalling here. Syndrome is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! King seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Syndrome has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Syndrome tries to move to mount but King blocks the move with his legs.
King is trying to control Syndrome's posture but Syndrome avoids it.
The ground and pound from Syndrome seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
King can't do much from the bottom here.
King gets back to half guard.
Syndrome trying to control the action but King is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Downe Syndrome will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Syndrome moves out of range as King throws a body kick.

Syndrome closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Syndrome lands in his opponent's guard.
King controls Syndrome momentarily but Syndrome frees himself.
Syndrome tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now King is on top in guard.
King slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Syndrome avoids any damage from the ground and pound of King.

King wants to control but Syndrome is keeping him busy.

King is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Syndrome is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Syndrome sneaks back into half guard.
Syndrome moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
King postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Syndrome is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because King is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
King trying to control but Syndrome is working from the bottom.

Syndrome looking for a sweep. Not yet Syndrome, not yet.
King passes Syndrome's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Syndrome is looking to control King's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Syndrome avoid being mounted?

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
King throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Syndrome stuffs the takedown.
Syndrome circles away from the clinch attempt.
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Syndrome circles away.
Syndrome throws a right and a left that both miss.
Syndrome doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.
King is looking to clinch.
King tries to clinch there but Syndrome circles away.
King tries for a takedown but Syndrome sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Downe Syndrome has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Teej King.
King misses with a double jab.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Downe Syndrome has been cut.
King is looking to clinch.
King moves in looking to clinch but Syndrome pushes him off.

Nice takedown defense from Syndrome. No joy for King on that attempt.

King throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Syndrome is controlling the pace.
Syndrome thows a huge punch but King dodges it nicely.

Syndrome wants to work for an arm triangle but King is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Downe Syndrome dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Downe Syndrome's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Syndrome is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Syndrome circles away and we're back to standing.

Syndrome looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Syndrome knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground.
Syndrome is nestled in close to King, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
King is trying to control but can't.
Syndrome tries to pass the half guard into mount. King knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Syndrome escapes and gets back to his feet.

Syndrome feints and as King raises his hands in defense, Syndrome changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Syndrome gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Syndrome swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by King.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

King closes the distance and clinches.
King with an attempt at a knee that misses.
A nice glancing elbow lands by King.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King throws an elbow but it misses.
Syndrome lands a shoulder strike.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, King just misses with a elbow thrown towards Syndrome's brow.
King with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
King creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
King misses with an elbow over the top.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for King.
King misses with an elbow strike.

Syndrome pulls King into guard.
King throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
King is pushing down on Syndrome's leg trying to pass to half guard. Syndrome is fighting to maintain full guard but King has managed to sneak the leg through.
Syndrome is refusing to be controlled, as King sits in half guard.
Syndrome is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
King controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
King working the head and body with strikes.
King is trying to control the action in half guard but Syndrome is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Syndrome wants to improve his position but King is controlling well.
Syndrome is trying to maintain the position but King is very close to passing his half guard.
King moves into full mount! Syndrome won't be happy about that!
King pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

King lands a heavy elbow.

King working for a submission but Syndrome is keeping him at bay.
Teej King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Syndrome is working to get back to half guard.
King controlling from the full mount.
Syndrome manages to control the position for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Syndrome is working to get back to half guard.

King has hold of Syndrome's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Syndrome manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
King cracks Syndrome with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Syndrome tries to hold on but King pushes him away.
Syndrome wants to try and get back to his feet.
King avoids the attempt from Syndrome to control.
BOOM! King connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Downe Syndrome.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Syndrome, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
