The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontiovaara shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hakala pinned against the cage. Hakala gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hakala throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
No luck for Kontiovaara with that takedown attempt.

Kontiovaara's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kontiovaara duly obliges.

Hakala closes the distance and clinches up with Kontiovaara, looking for a takedown. Hakala pushes Kontiovaara against the cage but Kontiovaara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hakala tries to pull guard but Kontiovaara holds him up against the cage and eventually Hakala drops back down to his feet.

Hakala tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kontiovaara knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hakala is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hakala is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kontiovaara has managed to free his arm - good work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kontiovaara has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hakala. Oh but Kontiovaara has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hakala goes limp - he's gone! Kontiovaara jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
