Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Bystrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Krushnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alek Krushnov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alek Krushnov! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bystrom throws a head kick but Krushnov moves out of range.

Bystrom tries to bum rush Krushnov with a series of wild strikes but Krushnov uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bystrom throws a head kick but Krushnov moves out of range.
A punch combination from Bystrom misses. Bystrom throws a sloppy head kick and Krushnov moves out of range easily. Bystrom tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bystrom misses with a body kick. Bystrom tries to work over Krushnov's front leg with a kick but Krushnov checks it. Bystrom throws a low kick but it's checked well by Krushnov. Bystrom scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bystrom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bystrom is breathing heavily. Krushnov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bystrom thows a left - swing and a miss! Bystrom pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Krushnov fails with a takedown attempt. Krushnov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bystrom on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bystrom tries to get out of the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Krushnov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alek Krushnov. Bystrom attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Krushnov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bystrom to the ground. Krushnov is now in Bystrom's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Krushnov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Krushnov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krushnov tries for a takedown but Bystrom sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Victor Bystrom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alek Krushnov. Krushnov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bystrom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Krushnov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bystrom to his feet.

Krushnov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bystrom manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Krushnov stands up and waves to Bystrom to follow him. Krushnov darts in and clinches Bystrom up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Krushnov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bystrom is trying to push Krushnov away but Krushnov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krushnov is struggling to control the position. Krushnov is trying to pull guard but Bystrom has him pressed against the cage. Bystrom wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bystrom gets underhooks to prevent Krushnov's takedown attempt.

Alek Krushnov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Krushnov feints and as Bystrom raises his hands in defense, Krushnov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bystrom can't keep his opponent in guard - Krushnov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Krushnov stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krushnov is working for a submission of some sort.
Alek Krushnov has got the better of the ground game so far. Krushnov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Krushnov decides to stand up. Krushnov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bystrom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krushnov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Krushnov seems to be working for a kimura but Bystrom defends the submission attempt. Krushnov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Krushnov stops Bystrom from getting back to his feet.
Krushnov passes to full mount! Victor Bystrom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alek Krushnov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Krushnov won't let Bystrom get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Alek Krushnov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Krushnov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
