PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edu Xande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hois Kreisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kreisi has chosen Ella ja Aleksi - Kakkaa lumella as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xande looks to land a combination but Kreisi avoids it well.
Kreisi throws a body punch but Xande moves out of range.
Kreisi lands a nice hook to Xande's body. Xande takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Xande walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kreisi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Xande avoids it really well and circles away.
Xande lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A slow jab from Kreisi misses its intended target.

Xande leaves Kreisi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kreisi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Xande sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kreisi somewhat.

Xande slaps away a takedown attempt from Kreisi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Xande throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kreisi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kreisi avoids the body shot from Xande.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kreisi scores with a sloppy right hand. Xande should have avoided that one.
Xande avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Xande moves out of range as Kreisi strikes.

Kreisi misses with a hook. Xande ducked under it nicely.
Kreisi shoots in for a takedown but Xande shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kreisi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Xande.
Kreisi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Xande throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kreisi.
Xande pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kreisi back to the cage. Xande follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Hois Kreisi has been cut.
Xande throws a front kick aimed at Kreisi's knee but Kreisi avoids it well.
Xande throws a head kick but Kreisi moves out of range.
Kreisi looks to score with a jab to the body but Xande is just out of range.
Kreisi throws a good cross that connects.

A looping hook to the body misses from Xande. Kreisi does a little dance to reset his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kreisi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Xande looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hois Kreisi will probably get the nod.

That's time! Xande's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kreisi walks forward, straight into a front kick from Xande.
Kreisi thows a body shot but no joy.

Xande punishes Kreisi's body with a nice straight punch.
Kreisi shoots for a double leg takedown but Xande sprawls well. He's pushed Kreisi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Xande is looking to wear down Kreisi with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Xande ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kreisi moves away.

Edu Xande has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hois Kreisi.

Xande throws a right hand that Kreisi ducks under and follows up with a left that Kreisi also avoids with ease.

Xande is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kreisi takes a swing at Xande's ribcage but misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Xande stalks Kreisi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kreisi's face. Kreisi staggers backwards, shaken.
Edu Xande seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kreisi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kreisi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kreisi drops his hands momentarily and Xande takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
