Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kip Pur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kip Pur ! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Johnson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a shot from downtown. Pur moves away and avoids it. Pur uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Pur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pur gets slowly back to his feet. Pur with a lazy takedown attempt and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pur shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kip Pur . That's going to take a lot out of him. Pur bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pur 's guard. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pur is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pur is trying to keep Johnson in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson trying to control but Pur is working from the bottom. Johnson preventing the sweep. Pur wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pur is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Tim Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Pur tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Johnson. Pur has his takedown stuffed and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pur fails with the takedown and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pur moves out of range as Johnson strikes. Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
Pur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pur gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson misses with a wild body shot. Pur gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Johnson counters with a single leg into guard. Pur didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pur swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pur avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson throwing strikes from guard but Pur blocks nicely. Johnson is working Pur over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Johnson lands a couple of digs. Johnson with a nice head shot there. Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Johnson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Johnson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Pur looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pur avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pur works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Pur has wrist control. Pur can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pur wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Johnson drops an elbow to the side of Pur 's head. Pur is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back! Johnson biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape. You can see the frustration on Johnson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pur is looking for a rear naked choke here but Johnson reverses the position brilliantly into Pur 's guard!
Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pur manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pur is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Johnson is surviving well by controlling Pur 's body position as best he can. Johnson can't escape the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pur has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pur throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Johnson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pur looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pur to see if he's OK. Johnson working away. The ground and pound from Johnson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Pur manages to work his way to half guard, despite Johnson's best efforts. Pur blocking the ground and pound attempt from Johnson. Pur looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are battling for position here. Pur manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Johnson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Johnson connects with a couple of short punches. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pur . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson won't allow Pur to get back to his feet. Johnson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Pur has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Johnson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Pur has tightened it up now! Johnson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kip Pur ! Kip Pur retains his light heavyweight title!
