The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Louis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jackson wants to control but Louis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Louis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Louis thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.

Mace Jackson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Louis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Louis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Louis wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Louis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. DeAndre Louis wasn't active enough on the ground.

Louis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jackson wants to control but Louis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jackson wants to improve his position but Louis is controlling well.
Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Louis is working away from the top position though.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jackson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Louis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Louis's back!

Louis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jackson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jackson is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Louis has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Jackson has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Louis taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Jackson doesn't care though - he's delighted!
